Welcome To Border Collie Rescue Ontario

BCRO is a a non-profit volunteer based organization dedicated to the welfare of the Border Collie. We depend on donations, adoption fees and fundraising to provide for the dogs in our foster care.

Our Goals

To rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Border Collies that have been abandoned, neglected or no longer able to remain in their current home.

To place adoptable dogs into appropriate homes making the best match possible for the dog and adopter.

To educate the public on the characteristics and needs of the breed. To commit and promote the spay and neuter of all dogs that come into our care.

To provide advice and contact information to Border Collie owners when needed, encouraging them to work with and keep their dogs.

Help us Help the dogs.....

In Loving Memory of Jane Newman Ralph

Jane was a kindred spirit, she loved her Border Collies dearly .  A inspiration to many watching her and her dogs on the agility course, in the equine world and always a supportive friend to many.

We will miss you beautiful friend.

Jane died yesterday, October 27th, 2020, at the Kingston General hospital, holding the hands of her daughters, Eliza and Cynthia. In the presence of close family and a friend, she fell asleep peacefully, knowing she was loved and grateful for having lived a long and joyful life.

Jane is survived by her son Duncan Ralph, daughters Eliza Ralph Murphy(Dave Murphy) and Cynthia Ralph Walker(Terry Walker)(Chris Bigger), granddaughter Rhiannon Murphy, sisters Missy Collier(Harry Collier), Cassie Miazga, and her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jane is predeceased by her beloved mother and father, George and Kate Newman, brother Howard Newman, sister in law Mary Newman of St. Catharines, Ontario, and brother in law Ron Miazga.

Jane was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario. She attended Havergal College in Toronto and returned to help on the family farm, training, and showing Hackney Horses including the pair Suddie Marshal and Marden Striplight and pony Lady Linda with whom she and her father won many ribbons. In later years she moved to the Kingston area where she trained and competed in Dog Agility, first with her hound Willie and later with her Champion Border Collie JT and his little sister KT Coy.

In lieu of flowers, Jane has requested a donation in her memory to Border Collie Rescue Ontario
