WONDERFUL COMPANION

Approx 4 yrs old, UTD on shots and neutered.

This is a intense little dog with a ton of love to give, he is a love bug and adores his people and can be a real goofy boy! He makes us laugh. Although he is intense Domi isn't a high matienence dog when it comes to exercise. He is quite happy to go for long leash walks and then settles wonderfully in the house. He loves to play with his toys and is keen to learn, he quickly warms up to new people when introduce calmly and positively. Currently he is living in foster care with a number of other Border Collies and he is doing great they are helping to teach him some manners! He is very herdy with other dogs and gets overly stimulated. He also is living with a parrot and although initially had very little impulse control he has quickly learned to leave it alone. He will be looking for a BC savvy home who has had experience with a dog that is INTENSE! who can give him lots of long walks in the forest and continue to build on his skills, impulse control and challange him.  In return you will get a fabulous companion.

No cats(or only SUPER dog savvy) or kids!

EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER, SPORT OR HERDING HOME. 

Rally is doing wonderful in his foster home but will need a very dog experience owner who has good training skills and is willing to continue to work with him. He definitely needs a focus. He is very relaxed and loves the cottage environment and just try to keep him out of the lake. If he is to be placed with another dog it will take time to socialize him, while it would be easier to place him alone he does enjoy the company of the other dogs and likes to play. He will not be placed around kids, he needs a adult only home!!!!!

Rally is doing really well in foster care, we have been working hard to socialize him with both people and dogs. He does still need to be managed. Rally is a intense boy who LOVES to play frisbee and also swimming , we are currently starting him on some foundation sport training to help build confidence and give him something to do . He is a big handsome boy at approx 21 inches and 45 lbs.

LEX is a VERY high drive girl, she likes to keep busy and will need a experienced Border Collie home that can provide her with a suitable outlet, mentally and physically.

She has some resource issues with other dogs and can be quite reactive at times.

This is a crazy smart girl who already has started some frisbee and agility work in foster care. She picks it up with lightning speed. She is VERY fast and athletic.

We have been working very hard on basic skills and impulse control and she has come along in leaps and bounds.

Lex will only be placed in a adult home. She will need a home that will provide management. At this time we will give preference to homes already active and competitive in sports.

Hendrix is back with BCRO after being out on Placement for 2 months.

After a few days he is settling back into foster care, we took him to the Triple Crown Championships to hang out with the gang and he got to meet and greet everyone.

We have started some foundation sport work with him in the couple of weeks he has been back. He is a big boy but very balanced and keen to play.

He will be back available for adoption in the next few weeks. Applications will be considered before hand.

This dog needs to be trained and handled using ONLY postive methods.

10 month old male BC.

Rocco is neutered and UTD on shots. He has quite a large over bite but this does not seem to affect his eating. He also shows mild Obsessive compulsive behavior with lights and shadows but with enough of a physical and metal outlet this seems to be minimal.

While we had this boy into the vet for his neuter we had him X rayed and full examined. We found that he has bilateral hip dysplasia also upon further examination patellar luxation on his left side. Due to this he has stretched his knee ligaments and shows mild instability. Along with Janice from Pawabilities, BCRO has had custom knee braces made for Rocco so that he can be a normal pup, these braces will stabalize his knees and minimilize further damage.  Rocco will need a home that will keep him active and fit, keeping him on a joint support will help him long term. We recommend that his adopter look into swim therapy and physio to help build his hind end and keep him strong.

This dog has a unbelievable temperament, he is wonderful with dogs and loves people he will be a exceptional active companion for someone.

OLIVER

aka ROSS

8-10 Month old smooth coated male Border Collie.

Oliver has been in a foster to adopt situation. Unfortunately he is not getting along with one of the female Border Collies in his current environment and is available for adoption.

Oliver has finished his first level of obedience with his foster mom, he also has started some foundation sport work. This young dog is super smart and loves to learn! 

Oliver is a bit of a pushy boy who loves to control the play and actions with the other dogs.  He will do well in the right home with the right dog. He also would do great as a only dog. He is very friendly with people and will make a wonderful additon to a active home.

DEAF!

Jack A Roo is one of the most focused deaf dogs I have ever met! This handsome and friendly boy is very keen to work with his person. He is very food and toy motivated. Jack has a great basic understanding of handsignals. He is working in a class environment and doing amazing. Jack a Roo does like to chase cars!

Obedience Classes will be mandatory with adoption.

Traffic is a VERY high drive boy! This young dog needs a home that is committed to doing competitive sports with him. He is extremely toy motivated and LOVES to work. Jake has some minor handling issues that we are working on in foster care.  He needs a experienced home with no kids.

Roam AKA Romeo.

Very Affectionate boy!

Roam AKA Romeo is a VERY affectionate boy who is 1.5 years old. Registered Border Collie. He is Neutered and UTD on shots. Romeo is a Good boy who is good in the house. Romeo is an active pup who will need exercise but can stay home and cuddle on a Rainy night. He has an amazing off switch in the house and will just go settle on his dog bed. He is crate trained and is a good boy in his crate. He is now able to travel in a car. He did get sick for the first while but got over it. Romeo will need an obedience class and recall. He will learn fast as he is keen to learn and bond!

Lovely boy who wants to build a strong bond with his person.

Milo has been working on his socialization skills in foster care. He is learning to interact and co exist with other dogs. This will be a on going process for this pup and needs someone who will continue to do the work with him. He is very friendly but in the past has developed some protective tendencies with his people. This is mostly because of his strong desire to bond. With a good leader that he trust he is learning to happily to defer.  Milo is food and toy motivated and has great basic obedience skills.

He is a car chaser.

"Spencer is a gorgeous 4 year old neutered Border Collie/ Australian Shepherd mix who is completely house broken. He is very nervous and easily startled with new people that have not been properly introduced to him leading him to bark and be slightly unpredictable; however, once you have gained his trust, he is full of love, affection, and playfulness. Spencer is great with other animals, as he has lived with one other dog and 3 cats for the past 3 years. He is great at travelling in the car, he loves to run and play, enjoys leashed walks, and absolutely loves to cuddle and be brushed! He loves to lay and play in the snow, and will always have a chew toy or rope in his possession. Spencer sleeps through the night, and loves to curl up on a mat beside your bed (and will even try to jump up for some extra cuddles the odd time). Spencer is also very willing to please with basic commands. He will come on command, sit, lay down, and shake a paw. Spencer can be very demanding when he wants attention; however some exercise or some cuddle time is usually all he needs to relax. Spencer is not food aggressive in any way. He does have some separation anxiety, and will wine and bark for a few minutes when he is left alone, but has no problems being left alone lose in the house for the day (just make sure you pick up your dirty socks or any food left out on the counter, or he will!). Spencer will also bark at the sound of the doorbell or at anyone coming up to your door. He has been vet checked and is up to date with all of his vaccinations. Spencer will need ongoing training and lots of socialization to help with his fear of new people. His ideal home would be with a quiet active couple with absolutely no children, and a fenced-in backyard."

Border Collie /LAB X

Koda was a owner surrender to the Barrie OSPCA. He is a lovely dog around 4 years old. He would be best suited for a home with a fenced yard and no small children. He would love long walks at the beach and a little fetch here and there.

Koda has some chasing tendencies but is a lovely boy who is very stressed in the shelter environment.
